I’m Julie

I ask questions.
A lot of them.

I’m a mum of five, wife to Steve, a writer, learning designer, manager, life coach, fitness instructor, wedding celebrant and professional question asker.

Yes, I do quite a lot.

On paper, it probably looks like I need to pick a lane.

I’ve never been very good at that.

Although the things I do might look completely unrelated, they all come back to the same thing: people.

I’m fascinated by what makes us tick. Why we do the things we do. Why we sometimes make things far more complicated than they need to be, and why we can spend years putting up with something before finally saying, “Actually, this is ridiculous.”

That curiosity shows up in my writing, my work and, quite frankly, most of my conversations.

When I’m not writing or working, you’ll usually find me at the gym, on a beach with Ruby (my Parsons Terrier and covergirl of Does the Doe Die?) hunting for sea pottery, or curled up on the sofa reading a book.

I’m happiest when I’m learning something, creating something, questioning something or occasionally all three at once.

And, if there’s a perfectly good opportunity to ask “But why?”

I probably will.

Come and say hello

I’m usually somewhere online, sharing books, ideas, questions and the occasional opinion — come and join me.
